Haiilo mobile app overview

The Haiilo mobile app is the mobile version of your platform. The mobile app functions similarly to the browser version of Haiilo. Some settings and functionalities of the mobile app depend on the module(s) that you use.

The Haiilo mobile app has the following features:

Permissions

Below are the permissions that relate to the mobile app.

Specific permissions, labeled as Mixed in the table below, apply to both the mobile app and the browser version. This means that if a user is granted permission to "Access Pages", they can access pages in both the app and the browser. Limiting these permissions to just the app or the browser is not possible.

Permission Platform Description and notes
"Enable timeline module" Mobile-only

Allows users to see the Timeline tab and all timeline content on mobile. The "Access timeline on homepage" permission is also required for the timeline to display on mobile.

"Enable news module" Mobile-only

Allows users to view the News tab on mobile. The News tab displays articles from Blog apps on pages/communities the user is subscribed to/member of.

"Enable homepages module" Mobile-only

Allows users to view homepages in the mobile app.

  • Additionally requires "Access homepages" permissions for users to see homepages.
  • A homepage also needs to be activated for mobile from Administration > Homepages.
"Access own profile" Mixed Allows users to access their own profile.
"Access other profiles" Mixed Allows users to access other users' profiles.
"Manage user profile" Mixed Allows users to edit their own profile.
"Follow user" Mixed Allows users to follow other users.
"Access notifications" Mixed Displays the notification bell and allows users to view their notifications.
"Create timeline items" Mixed

Allows users to post on the timeline. The "Enable timeline module" permission and its related permissions are also required.

"Delete Timeline Items" Mixed

Allows users to delete their own timeline posts. The "Enable timeline module" and its related permissions are also required.

"Write and receive messages" Mixed

Allows users to access the chat and send messages. On the mobile app, the Chat is an icon in the navigation bar.

"Access pages" Mixed Allows users to access pages and view their content.
"Follow page" Mixed Allows users to subscribe to pages.
"Access communities" Mixed Allows users to access and join communities and view their content.
"Access events" Mixed Allows users to access and reply to events and view their content.
"Search" Mixed Allows users to access the search
"Access and add likes" Mixed

Allows users to like items.

"Write comment" Mixed Allows users to write comments, including mentioning users.
"Delete Comments" Mixed Allows users to delete their own comments
"Access Colleague List" Mixed

Allows users to access the Colleagues list. On the mobile app, the Colleagues list is an icon in the navigation bar.

"Report content" Mixed Allows users to report content. On the mobile app, users can only report timeline posts, not comments.

"Access Studio", "Create, edit and delete posts" and "Publish posts"

(For Multichannel Communication)

Mixed

Allows users to create and publish Multichannel posts in the mobile app.

  • A mobile post creator can target Everyone or individual users by default. If they should additionally be able to target pages and groups, they need "Target any audience" permission.
  • If you want the user to be able to create and publish posts on the browser version as well, you should give the user "Access Multichannel Studio" permission. Without this permission, the user cannot see and access the Studio in the browser.
