Features

These are the features related to newsletters:

  • Creating newsletters: All newsletters are created in the Studio editor. You can use Haiilo AVA to help with content creation if it's been enabled and provide your newsletters in multiple languages. Learn more in these articles:
  • Reviewing and sending newsletters: You might need to request approval for your posts before they can be published, depending on your permissions. Only those with publishing permission can send newsletters without needing approval. Approvers can review newsletters in the editor. Learn more in these articles:
  • Managing newsletters: Once an email newsletter is sent out, it cannot be edited, unpublished, or retracted.
  • Planning distribution in the Calendar: All newsletters from your platform are shown in a calendar or list view, so you can easily plan your communication. You can drag and drop drafts into the calendar to send them. Learn more in this article:
  • Email Analytics: At present, there are no analytics available for email newsletters.

Permissions

These are the permissions related to newsletters:

  • Studio:
    • "Access Studio": Allows users to access and view the Studio and all its tabs.
  • Multichannel Posts:
    • "Multichannel administration": Allows users to activate the email channel for Studio content in the Administration (required for newsletters) and set up a custom email address.
  • Newsletters
    • "Create, edit and delete Newsletters": Allows users to create and edit their own newsletters.
    • "Publish Newsletters": Allows users to approve, reject, and send newsletters. A user without these permissions requires approval to send their newsletters.
      • Alternatively, if a newsletter's audience has been set to be one specific Page/Target Audience, an Admin of that Page/Target Audience can be selected as an approver despite not having publishing permissions, as long as they have the newsletter creator and access Studio permission.
    • "Target any audience": Allows users to select Everyone, individual users, and user groups as the audience of their newsletters. If this isn't enabled, users can only select Target Audiences/Pages as an audience for their newsletters.
