You can format your timeline posts using the editor toolbar, which offers formatting, alignment, and content options. In addition to the toolbar options, you can add mentions with @ and hashtags with # as usual. 

Formatting applied in the browser version is saved as Markdown, so the styling displays correctly on the mobile timeline as well.

To see all the keyboard shortcuts you can use to make editing faster, press Alt + 0 on Windows or Option + 0 on Mac.

To edit your text, you can choose between the following options: 

• Bold: Make your text bold. You can also bold text using the keyboard shortcuts Ctrl + B on Windows or Cmd + B on Mac.
• Italic: Make your text italic or cursive. You can also italicize text using the keyboard shortcuts Ctrl + I on Windows or Cmd + I on Mac.
• Strikethrough: Strikethrough a word or line to emphasize something that has changed. Strikethrough your text. You can also strikethrough text using the keyboard shortcuts Ctrl + S on Windows or Cmd + S on Mac.
• Bullet list: Add a bullet list. The bullet style is always a circle. A sub-list can be added by indenting the following line.
• Number list: Add a numbered or ordered list. A sub-list can be added by indenting the following line. The numbering follows this logic: 1, 2, 3 is used for the first list item, the first indented list item uses letters (a, b, c), the second indented list item uses Roman numerals (i, ii, iii), the third indented list item uses uppercase letters (A, B, C), and all following indentations use uppercase Roman numerals (I, II, III).
• Link: Insert a link to guide users to another location. You can also add a link using the keyboard shortcuts Ctrl+K on Windows or Cmd+K on Mac.
• Emoji: Insert an emoji to make your post more engaging. Emojis add a touch of fun and expressiveness to your post. It's important to remember that when selecting email as a channel or sending out an email newsletter, not all emojis are supported across all email clients.
• Code: Edit the HTML source code of your text to fine-tune details.
• Block quote: Add a quote box. A quote box is distinguished by a grey line and italic text. A quote can be used to set specific text apart from the rest of the content. 
• AVA: Highlight a word or sentence you've input to access AI-powered writing assistance, including options to rewrite, summarize, simplify, adjust tone, make text longer or shorter, and generate hashtags. Learn more in Using AVA as a Writing Assistant.
