The AI Assistant is here to help you find information and accomplish tasks on or outside the platform with ease. It's like having a real assistant at your fingertips.
Ask questions just like you're chatting with a colleague, and you can keep the conversation going if you need more details.
To use the AI Assistant, the feature needs to be enabled for your platform, and you need the "Access AI Assistant" permission.
Use the AI Assistant
- To open the Assistant chat, select
in the navigation bar.
- Enter your question or request in the field.
- Select Enter to send your request.
Let the Assistant do its thing and wait for its response. Once it responds, you can:
- Review the sources it used to generate its answer, enabling you to verify the information.
- Give feedback on the response using a thumbs-up or thumbs-down icon. Your feedback is recorded and used to improve future responses.
- Continue the conversation by typing in a new response in the message field.
- Start a new conversation by selecting New chat.
- View your past chats by selecting History. Your history is available only to you. At the moment, you cannot delete your messages or conversations with the Assistant.
- Exit the Assistant by clicking outside the chat modal or reclicking the
icon. If you're in full screen, you can, for example, select your platform logo to return to the homepage.
It's important to note that AI-generated answers may not always be accurate. The AI Assistant generates answers based on the content on your platform; however, it might not always interpret the content correctly. In some cases, it may also combine information from multiple sources that were published at different times, which could result in outdated details appearing alongside newer content. We recommend always reviewing the sources provided with each answer to verify that the information is current and accurate.
What you can do with the AI Assistant
Find information and get help
You can use the Assistant to search across platform content without needing to know where information is stored or which keywords to use. You can, for example:
- Ask questions such as "What's our policy on parental leave?"
- Ask follow‑up questions to get more details or clarification
- Ask the Assistant to explain the content in simpler terms
The Assistant uses content from your platform as sources. Your platform admins determine which sources are available to the Assistant. Learn more in Configuring the AI Assistant.
Get things done
Beyond answering questions, the Assistant can also help with everyday tasks both in and outside the platform. For example, you can ask the Assistant to:
- Create timeline posts on your personal timeline
- Summarize what happened on the platform during a specific time period
- View your upcoming holidays or request a new one (Required HRIS integration. The exact capabilities depend on the data your HRIS system can provide. Learn more in Supported HRIS systems)
- See your appointments for today, tomorrow, or next week as part of your Microsoft calendar (Requires Microsoft 365 integration activated and login via Microsoft)
Frequently asked questions

-
The AI Assistant searches the content that you have access to on the platform and identifies the content most relevant to your question. It uses semantic search to find matching content and then ranks the results to determine which information is most likely to answer your request.
The highest-ranking content is provided to the AI model, which generates a response based on the information retrieved from the platform. When generating a response, the AI Assistant also considers additional context, including:
- The history of the current AI Assistant conversation
- Your user profile information, including your name, job title, department, location, language, platform memberships, and subscriptions
- The current date and time
This additional context helps the AI Assistant determine which information is most relevant to you.
- You can choose which content types are included in the AI Assistant's knowledge base, such as blogs, pages, or communities. However, it is not currently possible to include or exclude specific platform entities within a selected content type.
- Not currently. The AI Assistant currently supports text-based input only.
