The AI Assistant is here to help you find information and accomplish tasks on or outside the platform with ease. It's like having a real assistant at your fingertips.
Ask questions just like you're chatting with a colleague, and you can keep the conversation going if you need more details.
To use the AI Assistant, the feature needs to be enabled for your platform, and you need the "Access AI Assistant" permission.
Use the AI Assistant
- To open the Assistant chat, select
in the navigation bar.
- Enter your question or request in the field.
- Optionally, select if you want the Assistant to answer Fast or Thinking:
- Fast gives you a quick, straightforward response.
- Thinking allows the Assistant more processing time to work through your question, which can be useful for more complex or nuanced topics.
- Select Enter to send your request.
Let the Assistant do its thing and wait for its response. Once it responds, you can:
- Review the sources it used to generate its answer, enabling you to verify the information.
- Give feedback on the response using a thumbs-up or thumbs-down icon. Your feedback is recorded and used to improve future responses.
- Continue the conversation by typing in a new response in the message field.
- Start a new conversation by selecting New chat.
- View your past chats by selecting History. Your history is available only to you. At the moment, you cannot delete your messages or conversations with the Assistant.
- Exit the Assistant by clicking outside the chat modal or reclicking the
icon. If you're in full screen, you can, for example, select your platform logo to return to the homepage.
It's important to note that AI-generated answers may not always be accurate. The AI Assistant generates answers based on the content on your platform; however, it might not always interpret the content correctly. In some cases, it may also combine information from multiple sources that were published at different times, which could result in outdated details appearing alongside newer content. We recommend always reviewing the sources provided with each answer to verify that the information is current and accurate.
What you can do with the AI Assistant
Find information and get help
You can use the Assistant to search across platform content without needing to know where information is stored or which keywords to use. You can, for example:
- Ask questions such as "What's our policy on parental leave?"
- Ask follow‑up questions to get more details or clarification
- Ask the Assistant to explain the content in simpler terms
The Assistant uses content from your platform as sources. Your platform admins determine which sources are available to the Assistant. Learn more in Configuring the AI Assistant.

Beyond answering questions, the Assistant can also help with everyday tasks both in and outside the platform. For example, you can ask the Assistant to:
- Create timeline posts on your personal timeline
- Summarize what happened on the platform during a specific time period
- View your upcoming holidays or request a new one (HRIS integration)
- See your appointments for today, tomorrow, or next week (Microsoft 365 integration)
