You can decide which additional navigation items to appear in the mobile app nav bar, letting you tailor quick entry points to your specific needs and how your users will interact with the app. You need the "Manage mobile settings" permission to customize the mobile app navigation.
Two navigation items are always included in the nav bar: your selected homescreen (either Dashboard or Timeline) and the Menu. These items cannot be changed or moved.
Configure the mobile navigation
- Go to Administration > Mobile > Home screen.
- Select your homescreen.

Choose up to 3 additional navigation items and drag and drop them into the gray area. You can choose from the options below, depending on what is enabled for your platform. :
Item Description Requirements Dashboard Mobile dashboard, displaying a user's personalized overview center.
If selected as the homescreen, it can't be an extra navigation item since it's the first. If not, it can be added.
Always available Timeline Timeline, displaying the user's newsfeed.

"Enable timeline module" permission Chat Chat, providing access to the user's chat conversations. "Write and receive messages" permission Colleagues Colleagues' list, showing all users on the platform for easy contact. "Access Colleague List" permission Pages Pages, providing access to the Pages overview and the user's subscribed pages. "Access pages" permission Communities Communities, providing access to the Communities overview and the user's community memberships. "Access communities" permission Events Events, providing access to the Events overview and the platform's events. "Access events" permission Bookmarks Bookmarks, providing access to the user's bookmarked content items. Always available Launchpad Launchpad, providing access to the user's launchpad items. Launchpad activated and "Access the launchpad" permission Search Search, providing access to the global search. "Search" permission Anything you don't choose but that is still activated for your platform by the corresponding permission will be available via the Menu instead
- Optionally, reorder the leftover Menu items in the order you want them to appear. You can see a preview of how the mobile app navigation and Menu will appear on the right side.
- When you're done, select Publish navigation.
Your new navigation will go live immediately, but users may need to close and reopen the app for the changes to take effect.
