Collaborating on Multichannel posts new

Collaboration allows multiple users to work on the same multichannel post by sharing editing and publishing duties for that specific item. As an author of a multichannel post, you can invite other users to collaborate on one of your post with you.

Collaboration on multichannel posts is asynchronous. Only one person can edit a post at a time. This prevents multiple users from editing the same post at the same time. Learn more in Understanding how locking works in Multichannel post collaboration.

Permissions in a collaboration

Any user you invite as a collaborator needs to have "Access Studio" permission. Otherwise, they cannot be a collaborator.

When you add a collaborator, the collaborator receives the same Studio permissions as you, the author, but only for this single post. Permissions always mirror the author's permissions for this post. For example:

  • If you can publish posts, collaborators can publish this post.
  • If you cannot publish posts, collaborators cannot publish this post, even if they normally have publish permission for the Studio.

Collaborators keep these permissions after the post is published so they can edit or unpublish the post if needed.

Only the author has the ability to change the Audience and Publisher settings or to invite and remove collaborators. Collaborators cannot complete these actions.

Find a post for which you're a collaborator

You can identify and access posts you collaborate on directly from the Studio.

  • Collaborative posts appear on your Dashboard > Drafts.
  • Collaborators are shown as avatars next to the author.
  • The same avatars are visible in the Calendar.
