Archiving blog articles

When your blog articles reach the end of their relevancy, archiving them is a proactive approach to keep your blog's content fresh and current. Archived articles can still be found in the blog app overview and the global search when filtering for archived content. Additionally, archived articles retain all analytics.

Archiving can be managed in multiple ways:

  • Defining automatic archiving after a set timeframe
  • Utilizing the Archiving assistant to bulk archive articles
  • Defining an archive date during article creation

An archived blog article can be restored later if needed.

Define an auto-archiving timeframe

You can automatically archive your blog articles after a defined timeframe.

  1. Open the app configuration by selecting  next to the app name
  2. Under Archiving, check auto-archive
  3. Define a timeframe. You can choose between day, week, month, and year
  4. Select Save

From now on, all articles created after the auto-archiving feature is activated will automatically have an archive date set.

Any articles created before the implementation of auto-archiving are not impacted and need to be manually archived.

Bulk archive with the archiving assistant

With the Archiving assistant, you can bulk archive articles. This is a good option if you recently implemented auto-archiving but still have many old articles that need to be manually archived.

  1. Select Archiving assistant
  2. Check the articles you want to archive. You can filter the list by author or publishing dates or sort it to find the articles. Selected articles appear on the right side.
  3. Select Archive to archive all selected articles

Manually define an article's archive date

When you create an article, you can define the date it will be archived. If you use auto-archiving for your blog app, the date is automatically set according to the defined timeframe. However, you can still manually change the date. Additionally, if you have an article that should never be archived, you can disable archiving by unchecking the Archive option for it.
