You can create sticky timeline posts that will stay pinned to the top of users' timelines. Users will need to manually mark them as read to unpin them. This feature allows you to publish urgent updates and ensure that users don't miss them. You need the "Create timeline items" and "Create sticky timeline items" permissions to create sticky timeline posts.
For general information on the timeline and creating timeline posts, read Timeline overview and Creating timeline posts.
Create a sticky timeline post
- Go to the timeline on which you want to post
- Select the text box at the top of a timeline element
- Write and configure your post
- Select the icon
- Choose the duration for pinning your post: 1 day, 7 days, or 30 days. Users can still manually unpin it from their own timelines, but it will automatically unpin after the chosen duration
- Select Post to publish your post
New sticky posts can be distinguished by Sticky post banner on top of the post. You can select Dismiss sticky to mark the post as read and unpin it from your timeline.
Posts can only be marked as sticky when created, not later. However, the creator of the sticky post can Unsticky it after it's published to immediately unpin it.
