You can connect the Haiilo MCP Server to supported AI providers used by your organization, allowing users to access content from your Haiilo platform directly within those providers.
Before you begin: We recommend reviewing Understanding the Haiilo MCP integration to understand the integration's capabilities and available tools before completing the configuration steps.
Prerequisites
- "Manage API clients" and "Manage integrations" permissions in your Haiilo platform.
- Administrator access to your organization's AI provider, such as Claude or ChatGPT. Refer to your AI provider's documentation for setting up MCP connections to learn more.
Step 1: Create an API Client in Haiilo
- In Haiilo, go to Administration > API clients.
- Select Create credential pair.
- Enter a suitable Client ID like "Haiilo-MCP".
- Under Grant Types, check Authorization Code.
- Add the Redirect URL(s) required by your AI provider.
- Under Scopes, keep profile checked.
- Select Create credential pair
If the AI tool requests OAuth client credentials during setup, use the API client ID and client secret from the API client.
Step 2: Connect an AI provider
After creating the API client, go to Administration > Integrations > Haiilo MCP. The Haiilo MCP page contains the connection details required by supported AI providers, including:
- Haiilo MCP server URL
- Authorization endpoint
- Token endpoint
The Tool permissions section allows you to determine which tools and permissions are available through the Haiilo MCP connection. Depending on your requirements, you can limit the functionality exposed to connected AI providers by adjusting these permissions before completing the setup. Learn more about the available tools in Understanding the Haiilo MCP integration. Remember to select Save changes after editing the permissions.
To connect to an AI provider:
- Open the connector configuration for your AI provider, such as Claude or ChatGPT.

- Follow the outlined steps and complete the setup process in your AI provider.
Once the connection is configured, users can authenticate and access Haiilo content through the AI provider.
