AI Content widget

The AI Content widget lets you create and display content using your connected AI tool. Describe what you want employees to see, work with the AI to refine the content, and publish it to the widget through the Haiilo MCP integration.

To use this widget, you need to connect to the Haiilo MCP integration and allow the AI Content tools. Learn more in Understanding the Haiilo MCP integration.

What can you use it for?

Use the widget to keep useful information in an easy-to-find place on your platform, especially when it comes from another source or benefits from a custom layout.

For example:

  • Upcoming tool maintenance: Display a table of affected tools, maintenance windows, and expected impact on your homepage. Why? Give employees one place to check upcoming maintenance without searching through individual announcements.
  • This week's cafeteria menu: Bring the menu onto your location page so employees don't need to navigate a separate website. Why? Lunch is an important part of the day! Make it easy to see what's on the menu, right where employees already are.

Set up the widget

The following options are available when configuring the widget:

  • Widget identifier: Generated when you save the widget for the first time. Use it in your AI tool connected to Haiilo MCP to identify the widget you want to update.
  • Name: Optionally, give the widget a descriptive name. You can also use this name to identify it in your AI tool.
  • Authorized users and groups: Select the users or groups allowed to publish changes to this widget through the Haiilo MCP integration. If you select nothing, MCP updates are disabled.

Edit the widget content

You can update the widget through your connected AI tool if you're authorized to publish changes to it.

  1. Identify the widget you want to update. Provide its identifier or name, or ask the AI to find the widgets you can update. For example:
    • "I want to edit the widget with identifier XXX."
    • "I want to edit the Tool maintenance widget."
    • "Find the widgets I can update."
  2. Wait for the AI to confirm that you can edit the widget.
  3. Describe the content you want to display. Explain which sources to use, what information to include, and how to arrange it. For example:

"Use the maintenance schedule from this connected source to create a table of upcoming tool maintenance. Include the tool name, maintenance window, and expected impact. Keep the descriptions short and show me the result before publishing."

  4. Review and refine the result, then confirm the update so the AI can publish it.
  5. Check the widget on your Haiilo platform to see the published content.

To change the content later, repeat these steps.

Recurring updates require a suitable workflow in your connected AI tool. Adding the widget does not, by itself, set up automatic updates.
