You can share content on the timeline to increase its visibility to users, pages, and communities across your platform. You need the "Share content" permission to share content on the timeline.

Share content on the timeline

You can share content in the browser and the mobile app.

1. Find the content that you want to share.
2. Select Share > Timeline.
3. In Share with, choose the users, pages, or communities with which you want to share the content. You can select multiple options.
4. Add a message to appear above the original content. The message is fixed and cannot be edited later.
5. In Share as, choose to share as yourself or as a page or community you manage.
6. Optionally, mark the shared content as sticky to pin it to the top of the timeline until the sticky note is dismissed.
7. Select Share.

The shared content appears on the selected page, community, or user's timeline and is visible to subscribers, members, or followers of the selected element.

Delete a timeline share

You can delete an individual share if you created the share or manage the page or community it was shared on. You need "Delete timeline items" permission to delete shares. 

1. Open the shared content.
2. Select the number of shares below the content.
3. Select > Delete.

Shares are also removed automatically if the original content is deleted.

Never delete a shared post in the same way you would delete a regular timeline post. Shared content remains linked to the original content. Deleting the shared post will remove the original content, not the individual share.
