Example: Newsticker with the blog app

Aim of the app usage

Before using the Blog app for this purpose, consider your goals:

  • Being able to quickly reach your employees.
  • Having an overview of all news.

Set up in Haiilo

To avoid confusion, we suggest creating one blog post with news headlines listed in chronological order instead of creating separate posts for each headline. You can add links to provide additional information if necessary.

Update newsticker

We need to use a small trick to ensure that all users are informed about the latest reports in the newsticker via push notifications:

  1. Reset the publication to draft,
  2. update the report and
  3. publish it again.

Resetting and re-publishing trigger new push notifications, whereas simply updating a blog article doesn't.

Please use this trick carefully and rarely so your users don't receive too many notifications.

Further tips & tricks

  • If you want to inform your employees only using the intranet and not through a push notification or the mobile app, consider adding a callout widget to your homepage.
