You can roll out your white label app globally in your company. Depending on your digital infrastructure, there are different solutions. In this article, we will look at four scenarios in particular. A combination of these is, of course, possible.
In most cases, our applications are available on the Google Play Store or Apple App Store. If you have a white label application, we handle the process of getting it into these stores, sparing you the need to obtain accreditation as a software publisher with Apple and Google.
For the sake of simplicity, in this article, we will refer to managed devices exclusively as EMM (Enterprise Mobility Management) services. These also include various other variants, such as MAM or MDM.
BYOD - Android
This BYOD (bring your own device) process, valid for private or unmanaged devices, is the simplest imaginable: Your white label app, like the standard app, will be available in the Google Play Store. Your employees download the app independently via their regular Google Play Store login.
With a direct link to the download, you can inform your colleagues about the app and leave it up to your colleagues whether they pull the app onto their smartphones. Of course, a search in the Play Store also leads directly to the download.
We create the Play Store presence according to your specifications, this includes uploading the app itself, the sample images, and texts. Please note that Haiilo will always be noted as the owner and producer of the app. This is necessary to automatically push out updates to you and your users. Your white label app will be updated automatically with every update of the mobile app. The updates are available on the devices just like any other app updates from the Google Play Store.
BYOD - iOS
After building the white label app, we make the app available to you in the private Apple App Store. This is because Apple App Store policies don't allow a regular (public) app store presence for custom apps. The white label solution falls under this category. To access this hidden presence and download the app, your users need a URL of the app. We will provide you with this URL.
Technically, the installation of the app and the update process are exactly the same as for other apps on iOS devices. The only difference is how users find the app: Searching via the app store is not possible. Downloading is only possible with the URL. We always release all Haiilo app updates for the white label apps as well, which results in automatic updates.
Managed Devices - Android
The release of the white label app for managed devices is identical to the regular release process via the Google Play Store. The difference lies in the installation process.
To install your white label app on all your company's devices, you can connect the app to your EMM service. You may need a Google Apps for Work account to do this. If you manage your company's devices globally, you can roll out the update directly to all your colleagues with every update of the app via your EMM service.
You can distribute your white label app to all colleagues with company devices via EMM as well as provide the voluntary download option in parallel. You can also set EMM policies through your EMM service.
Managed Devices - iOS
Analogous to the BYOD process, we build the app for you, make it available to you via the Apple App Store using Apple Business Manager.
Now, instead of your colleagues downloading the app via the URL, you can roll out the app directly to all your colleagues via your EMM service. We also make all updates available to you via the Apple App Store. As usual, your users will be notified about updates in the Apple App Store and can either launch it themselves or wait for it to download automatically.
