Push notifications
If you use the app, you can decide if and in which format you want to receive push notifications. Generally, there are push notifications for new chat messages and published blog articles on pages (if the articles are configured accordingly).
Published blog articles from communities don't trigger a push notification.
You can enable or disable push notifications in the mobile app in the settings. This will automatically take you to the settings for your mobile device, and the exact settings depend largely on your mobile device (Android or iOS).
As an admin, you can also set whether users should already be shown content as a short preview in the push notification. To do this, go to "General settings" and the "Notifications" tab in the administration. If you check the box "Send actual content in push notifications", users will receive a short preview of the content.
A notification badge is also shown on the Haiilo app for new chat messages and published blog articles on pages. The badges are shown as follows:
- For new chat messages: A badge displaying the number of unread messages is displayed on both Android and iOS.
- For blog articles on pages:
- iOS: A badge without a number is displayed, regardless of the actual number of published blog articles.
- Android: A badge with the number 1 is displayed, regardless of the actual number of published blog articles.
In-app notifications
In-app notifications are there so that you can see what topics are most relevant to you at access. You'll get a notification for activity on subscribed pages or from communities you're a member of, as well as when you're personally involved.
In the mobile app, you will find the notification bell in the upper right corner of the app. If it is blue and contains a small blue dot, new notifications are waiting for you.
The in-app notifications in the app differ from the structure of the "bell" in the web version. The mobile app aims for a more personal approach here, so the app has a more reduced list in this case.
The following items trigger in-app notifications in the app and are displayed in a single tab:
- You have been mentioned (@mention).
- There is a new comment on an article you have subscribed to.
- A colleague is following you now.
- A blog article was published in a community or on a site you follow.
- You have been invited into a community.
- Your request to join a community has been denied.
- A colleague requests to join a community where you are an admin.
- A new file has been uploaded in a community or on a page you follow.
- A wiki article has been published in a community or on a site you follow.
- A wiki article has been edited in a community or on a page you follow.
