User profiles in Haiilo can be filled from your user directory or by your employees themselves. Well-maintained user profiles act as digital business cards and allow your employees to get to know each other better and network.
Users with the "Manage user profiles" permission can fill in information about themselves in their profile. This makes your Haiilo more personal and allows other users to find internal experts on specific topics by searching with the correct information. By default, these are the profile areas and their fields:
You can customize the areas and fields yourself using Haiilo's Rest API. If you maintain basic information about your users (e.g., department, office, etc.) in a user directory, you can synchronize the corresponding profile fields directly from the user directory.
An admin with access to moderator mode can edit profile fields for individual users.
Profile and cover images
Users with the "Access own profile" and "Manage user profiles" permissions can upload a profile and cover image. Profile images cannot be imported from a user directory.
The maximum image file size for profile and cover images is 10MB. The image is always static, i.e., you cannot use a GIF as a profile image. To ensure the best appearance of your images, we suggest using the following pixel and aspect ratios:
- For profile images, use 160x160 pixels with a 1:1 aspect ratio.
- For cover images, use 1200x200 pixels with a 6:1 aspect ratio.
If the ratios of your uploaded images differ from the ones mentioned above, a pop-up window will appear enabling you to adjust the focus of the image. To optimize display and save space, Haiilo converts images to 160x160 pixels and 1200x200 pixels for profile and cover images, respectively.
If a user doesn't use a profile and/or cover image, Haiilo will automatically create an avatar with the user's initials for the profile image, and the cover image will remain empty.
