As a page admin, you have the option to either archive or delete a page. When you archive a page, the page and its content remain accessible to all users, whereas deleting a page permanently removes it and its content.
If you no longer need a page or its information, we recommend deleting it. However, if you want users to still be able to access its content, archiving the page is the better option. A deleted page cannot be restored, but an archived page can be reactivated.
Archive a page
An archived page displays an Archived label to indicate to the user that it shouldn't be used actively.
- Go to the Pages overview > select your page.
- In Options, select Settings.
- Check Archive page.
- Select Save.
Users can still find the page by searching or filtering by Archived in the Pages overview. Users can also interact with the page as usual. An archived page can be reactivated by unchecking the Archive page option.
Archived pages are automatically excluded from various elements, including the page drop-down menu, the subscriptions widget, and publish on behalf of a page.
Delete a page
Deleting a page removes it, along with all associated apps and content. A deleted page cannot be restored.
- Go to the pages overview > select your page.
- In Options, select Settings.
- Select Delete.
- Check I confirm the deletion.
- Select Delete page.
