Activating the user onboarding journey

When a user logs in to your platform for the first time, you can have them go through an onboarding journey. You need to activate the onboarding journey to make it visible to users. Learn more about the individual steps that users see in the onboarding in Understanding the user onboarding journey.

If you're using terms of use on your platform, the onboarding journey will start after the user has accepted the terms of use. Additionally, CSV-imported or local users set a password before beginning the onboarding.

The onboarding journey is only available on the browser version of your platform. Additionally, it is not displayed for users with the External Community Member role.

Activate the onboarding journey

You need "Manage features" permission to edit these settings.

  1. Go to Administration > Features > Miscellaneous > Onboarding.
  2. Toggle Enable onboarding.

After activating the onboarding journey, any new users logging in for the first time will go through it. However, any active users who have already logged in at least once will not see the onboarding.

Turning off onboarding does not deactivate the platform tour; the tour will still be available for users.
