You can create your wiki articles in multiple languages, enabling users to access information in a language they understand. This helps ensure that your employees clearly understand your guidelines and information. When an article is available in multiple languages, it will automatically display to users in their preferred language based on their account settings.
Your platform needs to have activated multi-language for you to create your articles in multiple languages. Additionally, you need to enable multi-language for your page or community and its apps.
Provide a wiki article in another language
When creating a wiki article, it's first created in your page or community's default language. To add more languages, follow these steps:
- Edit an existing wiki article or start a new one.
- In the upper right corner, select the default language to open the language selector.
- Select another language in which you want to provide the article. The available languages depend on those activated for your page or community.
- Choose an option:
- Start from scratch: You can start with a blank article in the new language, enabling you to write the article from scratch.
- Copy existing content: You can copy the article content from the default language that you've already written it in, allowing you to see the original content while writing the article in the new language.
- Auto-translate: If your Haiilo platform uses automatic translations, you can auto-translate the article into the desired language with DeepL or Microsoft Translate. You can still edit the article after it has been translated.
- Select Add language.
- Review or write your content in the new language. Any changes you make to the article's content and structure will only apply to the new language version of the article.
- Repeat this for every language in which you want to provide the article.
- Publish your article.
Each language version of the article is displayed separately, so you can navigate between your versions using the language selector.
