Malware scanner in the Haiilo Cloud

This feature is gradually being rolled out. If you would like to enable it for your platform now, please contact our Service Desk.

Haiilo utilizes a malware scanner that automatically scans files uploaded to the platform, preventing the spread of malicious files via your platform. It serves as an additional security layer that complements your company's internal information security guidelines and prevention measures.

The scanner scans all files uploaded to the platform, including profile images, files in timeline posts, images in blog articles, content in widgets, content in Studio posts, and more. It is available in both the browser version and the mobile app. However, content in Studio posts is not yet available for scanning in the mobile app.

It's important to acknowledge that although malware scanners are highly effective and sophisticated in identifying threats, no system is perfect. Therefore, despite the best efforts and advanced technologies employed to detect and neutralize such threats, there always remains a minimal risk that the scanner cannot find every suspicious file.

How does it work

When a user uploads a file on your platform, it is automatically scanned for malware. If a file is classified as suspicious, it is quarantined. A quarantined file remains visible on the platform but becomes unavailable for downloading. There is no error message when a file is quarantined.

Admins don't receive notifications about quarantined files, and they cannot view or restore them. If you think a file has been quarantined by mistake, please contact the Service Desk for assistance.

The malware scanner isn't yet available in the Private Cloud.
