You can allow your users to send kudos to show appreciation and acknowledge their fellow colleagues and employees for their hard work and support. You need "Manage features" permission to activate kudos posts.

Activate kudos posts

1. Go to Administration > Features > Miscellaneous > Kudos.
2. Toggle Enable kudos.

Kudos posts are enabled, and users can now send kudos in a timeline post. Learn how to send kudos in Sending and receiving kudos.

Understanding kudos types

There are three default kudos types. When kudos are enabled, every type is always available; you cannot turn off individual kudos types. However, you can create custom kudos categories to override Haiilo's default ones. Learn more in Creating custom kudos types.

The default kudos are:

	Appreciate Example use case: You want to appreciate someone for their work, support, or a particular quality.
	Celebrate Example use case: You want to celebrate someone's achievement, milestone, or success.
	Recognize Example use case:  You want to recognize someone's qualities, ideas, or impact.

Each default kudos type displays a background and icon. The backgrounds use a lighter version of your platform theme's primary color, while the icons utilize your platform theme's link color. The backgrounds and icons of the default kudos are predefined and cannot be changed.
