Uploading files in a Documents app

Once you've set up a documents app, you can easily upload files to it. For better organization, you can create folders to store your files. Additionally, based on your app's settings, users can be notified when new files are uploaded.

Depending on the app's permissions, you may need to be an admin of the page or community to upload files into the app. Additionally, to manage files further, you need the "Manage and delete files in documents" permission.

If your platform uses Haiilo's Microsoft integration, you can use the M365 Documents app instead to directly display files located in a SharePoint library on your platform.

Upload a file

You have the option to upload files to the app's Start page or into a specific folder. If you prefer to upload files into a folder, open the desired folder before proceeding.

  1. Select Upload files to open your computer's file library
  2. Select one or multiple files you want to upload
  3. Select Upload in your computer's file library

An uploaded file uses the name it had on your computer, but you can rename it by selecting   > Rename. This option is only available with the permission "Manage and delete files in documents".

You can find more information about the actions you can take to manage files in Interacting with files.
