You can use Microsoft Azure OpenAI as a provider for Haiilo AVA. To do this, you need to have a contract and license set up with Microsoft Azure OpenAI.
Before setting up AVA, you need to deploy a supported AI model and obtain the following information from Microsoft:
- API key: Find the API key in the details for your Azure OpenAI resource.
- Endpoint: Find the endpoint alongside the connection details for your Azure OpenAI resource.
- Deployment name: This is the name assigned to the model deployment. Microsoft uses the model name as the default deployment name, but the name can be changed when creating the deployment. For your AVA setup, you need the exact deployment name for your model.
Different AI models have different capabilities and can produce different results. For AVA features that generate text, we recommend using a gpt- model from the Azure OpenAI models collection. For AVA's audio generation feature, we recommend the tts text-to-speech model.
Set up Haiilo AVA
You need the "Manage AVA" permission to manage AVA's settings.
- Go to Administration > AVA > Provider.
- Select Microsoft Azure OpenAI as your provider. You can only use one provider for Haiilo AVA.
- Enter your API key and Endpoint from your Microsoft Azure OpenAI account.

Enable features for AVA
To use AVA's different features, you need to activate each one separately.
- Go to Administration > AVA > Features.
- Activate the features you want to use AVA for.
- Enter the Deployment name of the model you deployed. Enter the deployment name exactly as it appears in Microsoft. Do not enter the model name unless the model name is also the deployment name.
- Select Save changes.
AVA is now activated and can be used in your platform for the features you enabled.
