When you create an app, you need to activate it for it to become available to all users who subscribe to the page or are members of the community. Until an app is activated, it remains visible to only the page and community admins with "Manage apps of a page/community" permission. It is effectively in draft mode. This allows admins to build and configure the app and its content before publishing it for their users.
Activate an app
- Go to your page or community
- Hover over the app you'd like to edit
- Select
- Check Activate this app
- Select Save
Your app is now activated and visible to all users who subscribe to the page or are members of the community where it is located.
Deactivate an app
- Go to your page or community
- Hover over the app you'd like to edit
- Select
- Uncheck Activate this app
- Select Save
Your app is now deactivated and no longer visible to users. Additionally, the content cannot be found in the search. The content remains visible to page and community admins with "Manage apps of a page/community" permission.
A deactivated app appears greyed out in the app list and displays a "This app is inactive" message when an admin views it.
