Viewing wiki article histories

When you're viewing a wiki article, you can access its complete history. This includes information such as the date of publication and every single edit that has been made to the article over time. Additionally, you have the power to reset the article back to an earlier version in case any errors were mistakenly made.

Article histories are visible to all subscribers or members of the page and community where the wiki app is located, regardless of their permissions.

View an article's history

  1. Go to your wiki app
  2. Open an article which history you'd like to review
  3. Select > History
  4. To view an earlier version of the article, select an entry in the list

The history of a wiki article is listed in chronological order based on the date of the updates, with the most recent update shown first. Each entry in the history represents a new version of the article that was saved. If the app settings allow, you can also view the user who made the update.

When you view an older version of a wiki article, a message saying, "You are viewing an older version of this article. Click here for the latest version" appears. This indicates that the article is outdated and provides a link to access the current version.

Revert to an earlier article version

  1. Go to your wiki app
  2. Open an article which history you'd like to review
  3. Select > History
  4. Select an entry in the list to view the version
  5. Select > Revert to this version
  6. The article editor opens where you can review the old version's content and settings. Select Publish to create a new version of the article using the content and settings from the old version

When you revert to an earlier version of an article, it still creates a new version. This means that you can find all previous versions in the history. Instead of simply jumping back to a point in history, you are essentially creating a new version using old information.
