The Poll widget is a useful tool that enables you to generate a straightforward single-question poll for your users. It's a great way to quickly gather feedback and ideas and encourage active participation from your users.
Set up the widget
The following options are available when configuring the widget:
- Question: Enter the question for your poll. You can only ask one question per poll.
- Description: Enter a description for your poll. We recommend explaining the purpose of your poll to engage users in answering it. The more they understand what your aim is, the higher the engagement will be.
- Options: Add answers for your users to choose from.
- Extended options: Select the tab to view additional settings:
- Max answers per user: Define the maximum number of answers allowed per user. If you add a number other than 1, your poll becomes a multiple-choice poll. An Up to X answers badge is displayed on the poll to indicate how many answers the user can select.
- Vote anonymously: Check if you want to allow users to vote anonymously. By default, voting isn't anonymous, and the admins can see who votes for what. An Anonymous badge is displayed on the poll when anonymous voting is enabled.
- Show results to user: Check if you want users to see the poll results after voting. This allows users to see how others have voted and who voted for what unless anonymous voting is enabled.
- Closed: Check to close the poll. A poll remains open until it's closed. A closed poll is still displayed, but users cannot answer anymore.
- Users can add answers: Check if you want to allow users to create custom answers. If enabled, an Add answer option button appears in the poll. Any user can vote on any custom answer. The contributor and the widget admins can delete custom answers. At the moment, custom answers aren't available in the mobile app.
If you go back to the widget's settings after the poll has been created, you will see a Results tab showing the poll's results.
