You can enhance your text by including images and videos in the rich text editor. Adding visual media can improve user understanding and retention of your content, as well as make it more engaging and credible.
Add an image
To add an image, select the Image icon in the editor toolbar and choose an image from the file library. You can also upload a new image to the file library or drag and drop an image directly into the editor.
After adding an image to the editor, you can access formatting options by selecting it. These options include:
- Alignment: Change the alignment of your image. You can choose between left, right, or center or float it to the left or right of your text.
- Style: Choose styles to change your image's appearance. You can add a border or shadow and make the corners round. You can select multiple styles.
- Anchor link: Create an anchor link. This allows you to direct the user to the image from another part of your text.
- Link: If you select an image from the file library, the image is automatically linked to the file library so that users can open the image. You can change or remove the link.
- Size: Resize your image by dragging from the image's corner or manually inputting width and height in pixels. We recommend keeping the height at auto to ensure it changes proportionally when the width is changed.
- Caption: Add a brief description to be displayed under your image. A caption provides context and helps users understand the image.
- Alternative text: Add alternative or alt text to describe the appearance and function of an image. This makes the content more accessible to individuals who are visually impaired and rely on screen readers to navigate your platform.
- Remove: Remove the image from the editor.
Add a video
To add a video, select More options > Video icon in the editor toolbar. Then, you can choose if you want to add your video from a URL or the file library.
- From a URL: Embed a video from an external source directly into the editor, such as YouTube or Vimeo. Embedded videos from external sources will display the video settings of the source, meaning that a YouTube video will show the YouTube video icons and controls.
- From the file library: Add a video directly to the editor and store it on your platform. You can also drag and drop a video into the editor to upload it.
