The IT admin role assembles the technical permissions of the platform. Typically, this role's permissions are added on top of the user role and, in some scenarios, even the editorial roles.
Assign the role to
IT admins maintain the platform from a technical point of view as well as guarantee smooth technical operation. Their role is especially important in the initial phase of platform setup, when, for example, user directories are connected, or an authentication method is set up.
Create the role
A typical IT admin role has the below permissions. You can see the definitions for each permission in List of permissions.
Multichannel Posts
- "Multichannel administration": This permission grants access to the "Multichannel" section of the platform administration. Users can select and configure which internal communication channels are offered in the Studio. This permission only exists if the Multichannel module is activated.
User
- "Manage profile field configuration": This permission allows the user to configure profile fields via the API.
Timeline
- "Create sticky timeline items": Sticky posts are highlighted and stay at the top of the timeline for a defined amount of time. This feature should be used cautiously so as not to dilute the effect.
- "Create locked timeline items": Locked posts can't be liked or commented on. The feature should be used with caution, as locked posts run counter to the social character of the platform.
Administration
- "Manage users", "Manage groups", and "Manage roles": This permission grants access to the Administration's User management section. Users with access can create and edit new users, groups, and roles.
- "Manage system settings": This permission grants access to the Administration's System settings section. Users with access can define basic platform settings, such as how anonymized users are handled, the default visibility for pages and communities, or which types of notifications are offered to users.
- "Manage plug-ins": This permission grants access to the Plug-ins section within the Features section of the Administration. Purchased Plug-ins can be enabled here globally.
- "Manage themes": This permission grants access to the Administration's Themes section. Users with access can edit the platform's design and add CSS customizing. Use caution: Haiilo recommends keeping the platform as standard as possible and does not support CSS customizations.
- "Manage user directories": This permission grants access to the Administration's User directories section. Users with access can connect the company's user directory to the platform and maintain the connection.
- "Manage authentication providers": This permission grants access to the Administration's Authentication section. Users with access can set up the authentication method (e.g. SSO via various providers) the platform's users can use for login.
- "Manage API clients": This permission grants access to the Administration's API clients section. Users with access can manage and create API credentials.
- "Manage jobs": This permission grants access to the Administration's Jobs section. Users with access can manage and start the jobs in place.
- "Manage security & privacy": This permission grants access to the Administration's Security section. Users with access can set up the settings for brute force protection and content reporting.
