AVA can act as a writing assistant in the Studio and within the new rich text editor to help you save time when creating content.

To use AVA Writing Assistant, it needs to be enabled for your platform. To use AVA in the Studio, you also need the "Create, edit, and delete posts/newsletters" and "Access Studio" permissions. 

Use AVA Writing Assistant in the Studio

You can use AVA as a writing assistant in the Studio to ideate and draft text or to help you edit existing text.

Draft new text

1. Select the AVA button in the editor toolbar, or type a slash / and select Ask AVA.
2. Ask AVA a question or provide context to help you ideate or write text. The more context you provide, the better the output. Select Start to send the request to AVA.
3. Wait while AVA is typing.
4. When AVA is done, a response is generated, and you can decide how to proceed:
   • Discard: The generated response is discarded, and the AVA window is closed.
   • Insert below: AVA inserts the generated response into the editor. If the editor already contains text, it remains untouched. You can edit the text to refine it and remove unnecessary information.
   • Retry: Return to the beginning with your original query pre-filled so you can refine it and ask AVA again.

Edit existing text

1. Highlight a sentence or paragraph and select AI.
2. Select the AI pop-up and choose an action for AVA. The following actions are available:
   • Change your text's tonality to be more Friendly, Formal, or Professional
   • Make your text longer or shorter
   • Summarize a text you've written, allowing you to create a blurb or TLDR excerpt
   • Simplify your text to ensure your users understand it
   • Generate hashtags to accompany the text you've written
3. Wait while AVA is typing.
4. When AVA is done, a response is generated, and you can decide how to proceed:
   • Discard: The generated response is discarded, and the AVA window is closed.
   • Replace: AVA replaces your original text with the generated response. Your original text is discarded.
   • Insert below: AVA inserts the generated response into the editor below your original text. You can edit the text to refine it and remove unnecessary information.

Use AVA Writing Assistant in the RTE

You can use AVA as a writing assistant in the RTE to help you edit existing text.

1. Write and highlight a text snippet in the editor, e.g., "why communicating with your employees on their preferred channels is key".
2. Select the AI pop-up and choose an action for AVA. The following actions are available:
   • Change your text's tonality to be more Friendly, Formal, or Professional
   • Make your text longer or shorter
   • Summarize a text you've written, allowing you to create a blurb or TLDR excerpt
   • Simplify your text to ensure your users understand it
   • Generate hashtags to accompany the text you've written
3. Wait while AVA is typing.

We always recommend proofreading your AVA-generated content before publishing it to ensure its validity, integrity, and relevance.

Limitations

Generated hashtags are not linked or clickable.

When generated, hashtags appear as static text rather than clickable links. You can quickly identify this by their color: static hashtags will appear in the same color as your text, while clickable hashtags will appear in your theme's link color.

To make your hashtags clickable, copy a hashtag and paste it back into the content. A pop-up appears where you can select the hashtag or create a new hashtag.

Issues with language

Haiilo cannot guarantee that you will receive your AVA-generated content in your original input language. The output is determined by the AI provider's language models.
